Every season of racing seems to have one night that can be defined as the turning point for the rest of the year. The past weekend of racing at East Lincoln Speedway may be just what fans were looking for as it provided plenty of storylines to follow as the season enters the summer stretch. Sparks flew and tempers flared this past Saturday night at East Lincoln Speedway. Last lap excitement seemed to be the norm on this night of dramatic action. Last lap excitement, photo finishes and a first time winner all breathed life into the young season. Things at East Lincoln Speedway will definitely continue to heat up as Mother Nature leads us from Spring into Summer.

A driver’s first win is always a special moment to celebrate. A late race caution set up a green-white-checkered finish for the T.J.’s Motorsports Warehouse Open Wheel Modified Division. Derrick “The Rocket” Ramey led “The High Side Tickler” Kyle Strickler on the final restart of the night. Strickler did all he could to pass the car he drove to a championship last season. His efforts were not enough as Ramey made his first ever trip to Stanley Tools Victory Lane. Ramey, who had a runner-up finish last weekend, is now the division’s points leader. Manuel Johnson finished third one night after claiming his first ever Modified win at another racetrack. Ryan Ayers finished fourth on his birthday weekend. Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Steve Hines was the final driver to earn a spot in the top-5.

 The Open Wheel Modified Division is off next weekend but will return Saturday, May 14^th for a $1,000 to win event.

Strickler Crowned Open Wheel Champion

Friday night December 10th, Kyle Strickler and fat dog racing team were crowned open wheel champions at East Lincoln Speedway. The awards ceremony was held at track owner Ray Evernhams museum in Mooresville North Carolina. The whole night was special stated team owner George Eisenhower to say we are the best in our division is a great accomplishment. I am extremely proud of Brandon, Tiernon, Jeff  and Kyle we have a great group of guys on this team. We want to thank all of our sponsors and fans for their continued support. Harris Auto Racing what can we say that we haven't allready said, they build a great race car. We are getting ready to pick up our 2011 car and we can't wait to start the new season. The Original Fat Dog

Team Fat Dog Racing would like to send our condolences to Frankie and Vicky Kerr and family for the loss of long time family member Lenny. Lenny was the name sake of Fat Dog Racing. Lenny will be missed by all of us. We will have a picture of Lenny on our car stated team owner George Eisenhower. He was our buddy.

Harris Auto Racing National Car Builder of the Year

New Weston Ohio, Friday and Saturday October 8th and 9th Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler head to Tony Stewarts Eldora Speedway for the 2010 UMP Open Wheel Nationals. The team is getting the Harris Racing modified ready for the big show, we will leave Thursday at noon and head to Ohio. It will be the teams last race of the season. The 2010 Harris racing modified has been sold. In a statement from team owner George Eisenhower, we will be teaming up with Robert Poole the 2010 East Lincoln Speedway Legends car champion for the 2011 season. WE want to focus on getting Robert and his family up tp speed in the open wheel class so we will work side by side to make sure Roberts learning curve is made as short as possible. We are extremely excited to have this young racer as a part of Team Harris. We will announce the arival of our 2011 Harris Car as soon as we know when it will be delivered.

Seventeen and Counting

Saturday August 7th Team Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler returned to Ray Evernhams East Lincoln Speedway to resume the tight points battle with Danny Boen. Boen experienced engine trouble during hot laps and went to a back up car. Strickler ran second in his heat race and boen fifth in his. THe invert draw placed Strickler on the pole for the nights main event. Boen Started tenth. At the start of the A main their was little doubt as to who the nights feature winner was going to be the big question was where Danny Boen was going to wind up. Strickler went on to record Fat Dog Racings seventeenth heature win of the season while Boen broke on lap ten. Fat Dog Racing stretched the points lead to sixty eight points over Danny Boen. Man it feels like we got the monkey off our back stated team owner George Eisenhower. We have battled fuel pressure problems in four different races this year including the last two at East Lincoln. Brandon. Kyle and I put pur heads together and we finally figured out what the problem was and the Harris Auto Racing modified was awesome tonight. Know we can concentrate on winning the track titles at East Lincoln and Carolina Speedway which is what our goals were from the beginning  of the season. We return to Cherokee Speedway next Saturday night to make up the show that was rained out last weekend.  

Strickler Continues Domination at Carolina Speedway

Friday July 30th the" High side Tickler" Kyle Strickler ran away with his sixteenth win of the year in the Harris auto Racing,Donaldson grading, A.W.Golden Cadillac,NC USO, Dirt Diva modified. In front of a packed house Strickler took command of the main event from the drop of the green flag. With a intense battle between Danny Boen, Ryan Ayers and Rob McGlaughlin for second, third and fourth strickler checked out and raced to another big win for Team Fat Dog. Danny Boen spun entering turn one and had to go to the tail of the field. Ryan Ayers finished second behind the hard charging Strickler.

Races to Win #15

Friday night July 23rd at Carolina Speedway Kyle Strickler raced to team Fat Dogs 15th win of the year. Kyle starting in the fourth spot for the open Wheel modified main event went to work passing Shawn Martin for third Kyle set his sights on the race leaders. Danny Bohn and Rob Mcglaughin they were racing side by side going into turn one, Strickler drove high into turn one riding the rim and turned the Harris Auto Racing, USO, Dirt Diva, Donaldson Grading, A.W.Golden Cadillac left dove to the bottom coming off turn two and in one of the best moves the fans have seen in a long time drove by the race leaders three wide going down the back stretch and never looked back. Strickler went on to win by a straight away over runner up Danny Bohn. Man what can I tell you the engine that Earl Ramey from Ramey Race Engines was fast. I think the engine is better than when we first picked it from Earl stated Kyle. We hurt this engine a couple weeks ago dropping a valve and Earl worked his but off putting it back together for us we cant thank him enough. I cant wait to run this bad boy at the open wheel nationals. We have Carolina next Friday night and another new track Cherokee Speedway in South Carolina Saturday night. We will see all our fans next week. 

Strickler Runs Second at Ray Cooks Southern Nationals

Tuesday night July13th Ray Cooks Southern Nationals tour  visited Carolina Speedway in Gastonia North Carolina. Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler were running their fifth race in nine days. The heat race saw Kyle starting in the fifth spot at the drop of the green Kyle waisted little time getting to the front. Strickler tickled the high side and drove around the four cars in front of him leading the preliminary event wire to wire . The evenings main event had the high side tickler starting outside row one. From the start Strickler jumped out to an early lead only to have erased by a turn one spin for points leader Ryan Ayers and Nick Stroup. On the restart Kyle again went to the high side and slid up the track to avoid debris left from the turn one spin opening the door for Danny Boen to take command of the race. Kyle gave chase but was unable to retake the lead finishing second in the nights open wheel main. We are disappointed not winning tonight but it was a good points night we gained twenty of the twenty three points we lost to Ryan due to our engine failure Friday night. WE will take a brake this weekend and get the Harris Auto Racing, Donaldson Grading, A.W. Golden Cadillac, Dirt Divas race wear modified ready for the stretch run for the track championshipe at both East Lincoln and Carolina Speedway before heading to Boone Iowa for the open Wheel Super Nationals

Fat Dog Racing headed to The Harris Clash

Team Fat Dog racing and driver Kyle Strickler arrived at the Harris Clash at the famed Knoxville Speedway in Knoxville Iowa. With 72 cars on hand trying to make the 30 car a main the first order of bussiness was our heat race. We lined up outside row one in the 2nd of six heats. At the drop of the green kyle tickled the high side and took command of the qualifying event and led wire to wire earning a spot in the prestigious Harris Clash. Linning up 4th for the a main we fell back early to the ninth spot, Kyle made a break adjustment to free the car a little and starting coming back to the front. With two to go the caution waived bunching up the field. On the restart we were five wide entering turn three and we were shuffled back to 15th on the final lap Kyle passed two cars and finished a repectable 13th. This is huge for our program it lets us know that we are cappable of racing with the best in the country. Well it's back to North Carolina to Get ready for the Ray Cook Southern Nationals Tuesday night at Carolin a Speedway.

Fat Dog Racing Races in Iowa

Friday July 2nd Team Fat Dog Racing and Marlin Hugely departed for Boone Iowa on the 1000 mile plus journey to race in Iowa. Marlin was kind enough to fly to Charlotte and help drive back to Boone Iowa. The guys were amazed at the pretty wheel Marlin held piloting the teams hauler. We cant thank Marlin enough for helping with this trip. On Saturday night July 3rd Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler were set to tackle the home of the IMCA Supernationals Boone speedway. The first order of bussiness was making the a main. Kyle started 8th in the heat and at the end of the 8 lap heat he finished in the 3rd spot making the invert. Kyle lined up 10 th in the A main and went to work at the half way point of the show Kyle was in the 7th position with three to go the caution flag waived . On the restart Kyle went to fire and had lost fuel pressure, Kyle fell back a few spots, regained fuel pressure and wound up finishing 9th. We gained some valuable experience racing here at Boone and thats what we came to do,. The track time will help when we come back for nationals in September.

14 and Counting

Saturday night June 20th found Team Fat Dog and driver Kyle Strickler back in victory lane for a single season record tying 14th time. From their front row starting spot Strickler took command at the start and drove away with another win. Our car was awesome and this was a great tune up getting ready for our trip to Iowa this coming week. The Mod Squad crew had the car prepaire flawlessly, my hats hats off to them. Brandon and Tiernon helped achieve one of our goals for this season, we tied Josh Wrights record. We need one more to break it and we are just now at the half way point of the season exclaimed team owner George Eisenhower. WE will post our Iowa schedule in the next day or so

From the back of the Pack

Friday night June 19 Fat Dog Racing found them selves starting from the back of the pak by virtue of the teams three straight wins at the action track Carolina Speedway. Starting from the eighteenth spot strickler went to work on the opening lap moving up six spots when the caution flag waived erasing the gains on the track. On the restart their was another caution and the track officials lined the field up single file for the start. When the race finally started the lead cars were crossing the start line and Fat Dog Racing driver Kyle Strickler was entering turn three. The caution never waived again and the best finish Kyle could manage was sixth place. It is frustrating that we run twelve lap features at Carolina and we had to start from the back it doesn't give you much time to race to the front. Anywhere else in the country our main events are not much more than a heat race. We will regroup and come back stronger when we return in two weeks stated a frustrated Kyle.

Dirt Modified Magazine July Issue 

Dirt modified magazine a branch of Three Wide Media out of Independence Iowa has published an Article on Team Fat Dog Racing.In a four page write up about Fat Dog Racing the article covers everything from Team owner George Eisenhower, driver Kyle Strickler and our marketing partners. This is pretty cool to have our team covered in a nationally recognized magazine. We work very hard at trying to keep our team in the spot light not only locally but nation wide as well. When we roll into a new track we want our competition to know we have a strong program. It is great to be able to promote our sponsors and to have a return for the investment they have with our team. The article was written by long time friend Ozzie Altman. I can't thank Ozzie enough he did a tremendous job on the article. We have extra copies on order to give to our team members and sponsors. 

Strickler Remains Hot in June

Team Fat Dog Driver Kyle Strickler brought his 2010 win total to 13 in dominating fashion. With two weeks remaining before the half way point of the season Strickler is on track to break the single season win mark of 14 wins set by Josh Wright in 2005. It has been an amazing season to say the least and we still have alot of racing to go. We can only imagine the win numbers we can post this season. A huge part of our success is racing this 2010 Harris Auto Racing Modified it is bad fast every where we go. With a little luck and Kyle gassing her up we might be able to  break Josh's record this weekend stated team owner George Eisenhower

Richoed Leaving Fatdog Racing

Long time team member and our car chief Richie "Choed" Shirey is leaving team Fatdog racing to pursue his dream of racing and be with family in his home state of Indiana. "Richie has been an important part of team Fatdog for several years. Richie's hard work and dedication for our race team has helped us raise the bar of our race team to a championship caliber program." stated team owner George Eisenhower. Among Richie's accomplishments is a 2008 East Lincoln Speedway championship and to date 30 feature wins. Richie will be missed by all the guys at team Fatdog not only for his hard work but also his sense of humor. Where else can you see a grown man in a firesuit, helmet, and gloves wheelin' it on a car simulator video game. On behalf of everyone at Fatdog racing we wish you continued success.

Strickler Sweeps Lancaster Speedway
Saturday night May 22, Team Fat Dog Racing made the trip to Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster south carolina for the first ever open wheel race at the famed  half mile speedway. With nineteen cars on hand the first order of bussiness was qualifing. Kyle Stricker piloting the Harris Auto Racing modified went out ninth for the qualifing and paced the field with a time of 21.61 seconds earning his second pole position start in three atempts. The field was set and Team Fat Dog Racing was on the front row. From the start Kyle took command and led the A main wire to wire winning the tenth race of the 2010 season. We are having a great season stated team owner George Eisenhower, we had the owner of Harris Auto Racing and five time Super Nationals winner John Logue with us this weekend. Winning with John here was awesome, just to have him here and to be able to pick his brain a little was invaluable.

Strickler Runs Second at Carolina
From his sixth starting spot in the main, Kyle Strickler went to work trying to catch the leader, when Nick Hoffman, in a blatent  move, ran over the 01 car and tried to wreck Kyle. Kyle did a great job keeping the car off the third turn wall. On the restart Kyle again starting working on leader Ryan Ayers. Ryan and Kyle both distanced themselves from the field in a spirited battle, with Ryan coming out on top for his second win this season and Kyle in the runner-up spot.

We had a great race with Ryan, who is a tremendous talent, and our team will battle with him every week racing for the track title. It is unfortunate there is a driver who tries to wreck people on purpose, this has not only happened to us, but to other racers as well. What goes around comes around.

Strickler 4 for 4 at East Lincoln
After winning three straight at East Lincoln, Team Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler had to start at the tail of the field. From the eighteenth starting spot, Kyle went to work at the waiving of the green flag. On lap three, Kyle moved up to the tenth spot, on lap seven he was in third, and the next trip around the 3/8 mile speedway he set his sights on race leader Tim Sigmon.

The high-side flyer, Kyle Strickler, used his patented rim riding move to drive by the race leader and take command of the race, winning his fourth race in as many starts at the Ray Evernham owned racetrack.

Man, that was a hot race. The race track had ruts everywhere, and it just beat the heck out of our car and myself. My guys did a great job tonight, and we recorded our ninth win of the year, topping last season's win total for owner George Eisenhower.

We have a big weekend next week, with Carolina next Friday, and our first trip to Lancaster Speedway in South Carolina on Saturday. On top of that, we have five-time Supernationals winner and the owner of Harris Auto Racing, John Logue, coming to town to race with our team.

 Gastonia NC, After returning from Boone Iowa from the open wheel super national's, Team Fat Dog Racing and driver Kyle Strickler headed back to Carolina Speedway for the final points race of the season. Trailing defending champion Ryan Ayers by three points Kyle, Brandon and crew knew what they had to do, finish in front of the Six car of Ryan Ayers to clinch the 2010 championship. Starting inside row two of the nights main event and the first race of the Border Battle the" High Side Tickler" went to work.On the start Strickler made short work of the out side front row starter Emanuel Johnson to take over the second spot, Kyle then set his sights on race leader Danny Bohn. In one of the best races of the season Strickler and Bohn would battle to the end slide jobs and side by side racing the two veteran hot shoes put on a show for the fans. In the end it would be Kyle Strickler claiming his twentieth win of the season and the 2010 Carolina Speedway track title. I am extremely excited for this team expressed team owner George Eisenhower, we wanted to win the track title for Kyle it is his first in a open wheel modified. I know he is tickled, the champagne bath the guys gave him before he could get out of the car was fun to watch. I can't thank my guys enough, they have continued to set the bar in the open wheel class in our area. This is the fifth championship for our program and we have an opportunity to win number six with two races to go at Ray Evernham's East Lincoln Speedway.
